Brand: Microgynon 30 Hi, I started my first pill on Monday mid cycle so not during my period, does that mean I will have to wait 7 days to be protected from pregnancy? I can’t find this specific information in the leaflet so I was wondering if it’s the same for all combined pills? Also if I wait about a month before not using protection will I definitely be protected?? Thanks!

Yes you will need to wait 7 days (and 7 days means you will be protected only when you take your 8th pill)

Not necessarily but I had a look at the microgynon 30 pamphlet and saw in the section that it’s 7days

I’ve screen shotted and marked a few places... but I would advise using condoms not only until you are protected but also until you are comfortable taking your pill and trust it because so many people panic when they first start it because they have let their SO finish in them and they haven’t started trusting the pill and the stress isn’t worth it

@Sarahw111 if it says 7 days it means 7 full days, so you’ll be fully protected on the 8th day.

I trusted my pill within a week of starting because I knew I was taking it correctly and on time and I had researched how it worked before starting.... but everyone is different... make sure you read up on how the pill works, read your pamphlet throughly etc and if you feel comfortable then you can start once you have take the 8th pill but make sure you are comfortable to do so the stress isn’t worth it
