So if you’ve known I was diagnosed with hsv1 on my genitals due to my bf having cold sores and using his spit as lube one night. However it was one of the worst cases my drs have seen I had sores literally everywhere and they’ve all healed now but when we tried to sex the other night it was very painful when he tried to enter and when he stopped and checked some skin near my perineum or near the very end of my labia had ripped and was bleeding. I’ve sex hundreds of times and I never had this issue. When I look down there I see like a small membrane that looks like it’s holding my outer labia together. Idk what to do because using tampons don’t hurt but having sex does so will I just have to break that skin or should I have my gyno look at it and decide if she can do anything. My vagina was not like this before my first outbreak but it was so bad that some of the sores even healed together and I had to go to the ER to have them split them apart.

If your outbreak was that bad that you had to go the ER I imagine your vagina has a lot of healing to do and I would take more time from sex for sure. I’m so sorry this happened. I think it’s best to abstain from sex for a solid 4 weeks. Just let your body heal itself as best as it can. You can’t rush this process and herpes does not just effect the outer skin but layers beneath the skin as well so there is a lot of healing that needs to happen.

When did your first outbreak happen?

@bbnn I don’t have any sores and it’s been a solid month. But when I look down there I see a thin membrane of skin blocking the entrance just ever so slightly that when anything bigger than a tampon goes in it feels like it’s tugging and pinching. I’ve never had this before.

@bbnn it was so bad that they said the inside and entrance of my vagina looked like someone took a hot curling iron and shoved it inside of me. So I’m worried because I couldn’t walk or moved I just laid down with my legs together that the sores somehow healed together towards my perineum. I mean it looks like you could just take a scalpel and slightly release it because it’s very thin but it def has never been there before.

Okay then yes I would see a doctor about that. Again I’m really sorry.
Are you trying l-lysine pills? They promote wound healing. I would also dive seriously into a strong, healthy, diet with lots of super foods. Your diet can change so so so much about your body inside and out. Water every day. Stay away from junk food besides on occasion.

@bbnn I haven’t tried them yet because I’ve been taking acyclovir on and off since they’ve all healed. But I’ll def go to my doctor. Clearly something new has changed because I never had this issue before.

@bbnn I can do everything virtually normal again. I can squat and stretch at the gym just fine. Pee, poo, use tampons. Everything except sex. It doesn’t hurt inside of me it’s just the very outer entrance like you had a half an inch sheet of skin connecting at the very very end right next to the perineum.

I’m glad everything else is back to normal! Hopefully the doctor can help with having sex again. But again be patient with that too.
