TW obese pet weight loss So I took my cat to a new vet this year. My cat has been 15lbs for years and my previous vet has never said anything about my cat being obese or needing to lose weight. This new vet wants me to get him down to 10-12lbs. Does anyone on here have experience on getting your pet to lose weight and how to do it in a safe way?

I’ve seen someone use a cat exercise wheel with some treats to get them started, but they said more movement in general helps a lot!

Definitely more movement—lots of playtime, chasing things, etc. Also consider feeding a low calorie cat food and make sure you’re feeding the appropriate amount for your cat. We rescued a severely obese dog and were able to cut his weight almost in half, it just takes time!! Good luck
