Ladies. I had a friend tell me my parents were wrong for buying me alcohol. I drink a glass of pimms (1.3-1.5 units) every fortnight or so (possibly even monthly). She said I shouldnt be drinking at 16 at all. Is she correct?

I don't personally see the issue. My parents have let me have a drink here and there for years now (Im currently 17, 18 next month so I can drink then anyways). Theyve never let me drink excessively, like when we were 13 and my friends were getting drunk in fields etc I wasn't allowed then but I really don't see a problem here lol.

I don’t see the problem at all. My parents bought me alcohol before I was legal. But I also I drank responsibly. But by the way it’s sounds one glass is not the same as getting drunk all the time or anything like that. So I don’t really see why she would tell you that. And she isn’t your parent so I would just ignore her comments. Lots of people at 16 drink all the time. As long as you are safe I think once in a while is fine. In the end you do you 🤷🏼‍♀️

Pretty sure my parents let me have a little drink before I was legally allowed. It’s not a problem as long as you’re not like fully drunk or anything 👍

All the families I know in my culture would drink with their parents at that age tbh. I was brought up seeing my dad eat his steak with a glass of dark tequila probably 4 times a week. When we went out to dinner they’d order a drink for me at that age usually for me to try and differentiate what I was drinking. If they opened a new bottle they’d always pour a glass for me to taste it, i honestly don’t see anything wrong as long as the end goal is not to get knocked out 🥶

My mom let me try beer when I was that young. She figured it was safer for her to be around than for me to try it at some house party around strangers.

I don’t see an issue with it. It’s better you’re trying it at home with your parents rather than somewhere sketchy
