I went off of the pill after being on it for about 8 years. My sex drive is finally back but my anxiety is still bad. It’s been 3 months since I’ve been off of it. My doctor prescribed lexapro but I’m scared to take it because sex drive was something I struggled significantly when being on the pill. I know low libido and inability to orgasm are side effects of lexapro so I’m excited to experience these

It’s up to you. Nobody can force you to go on medication. Have you tried therapy?

@awg1 I’ve been off of the pill after trying multiple different brands/dosages with my doctor. My main concern now is being on an antidepressant and struggling with low sex drive again

If you don’t feel entirely happy going on medication for your anxiety you don’t have to right now. Maybe give yourself another month or two to think about and make a decision then. It can take your body up to 9 months or even longer to fully regulate itself after stopping the pill so maybe once your hormones settle down a little more you may feel differently.

Ah sorry got mixed up thinking it was a BC pill! Did you discuss your concerns about your sex drive with your doctor? Did they suggest any other treatments where this may be less of an issue? If you didn’t then I recommend doing so. Have you found the therapy to work for you? x

Antidepressants really affect everyone differently so it's not at all certain how it will impact your libido or ability to orgasm. I've heard some say it takes them longer to orgasm but there's no impact on overall sex drive. I'd also consider how anxiety might be affecting your daily life and your sex life so it could be worth trying.
