Are farmer’s markets popular where you live? Do you frequent them if they are? Literally just a random question I had. They’re super popular all over Colorado. I love it.

Yes! I live in Minnesota and we go every weekend that they are open (mid-May to mid-October). We go to one of the bigger ones but I think there are close to a hundred markets in the city we live in 😍 My partner and I both try to only buy vegetables that are in season and local if possible, so we end up buying large quantities and freezing/canning them. It’s a completely different way to consume food than I’m used to (started doing this about a year ago) but I completely am in love with it.

I live in southern Ontario and they’re slowly becoming more and more popular here !

Yes. We have a farmers market every Thursday where they close off the street and have live music and everyone just hangs out and shops. It’s super fun.

Not in the uk, we have markets but there nothing special

Yes! I'm from Indiana and there's one I always go to to get bacon because its just the BEST I've ever had. A lot of them have stands for awareness things too relating farming.

They have cheap prices but I don’t love going because the lines are always super long. The ones I go to are usually hispanic owned and everyone who goes there are mostly minorities (black, asian, hispanic). It’s just a necessity if you eat as much fish as I do and as much rice as I do. They also have a lot of ethnic food (probably why mostly ethnic people go there).

There are some in my city and a small one weekly on my campus but the produce tends to be a little pricey for me. I’d love to buy local and organic but as a student I just can’t justify spending more than if I went to like Trader Joe’s. The market on my campus has tons of cool prepared foods though (like arepas, grilled steak, poke, gyros) so sometimes I will buy lunch there.

There’s one just outside the city here every Saturday in the summer, I went once last year and would definitely go again! I think there’s a few other ones as well but that one is the most well known
