Can you get a blood clot on your brain if you smoke while on the pill?

Well the pill releases natural chemicals you create while you’re pregnant into your body so I doubt it. I’ve never heard anything like this before.

If you’re on the combined pill and smoke tobacco/something with nicotine it does slightly increase your risk of blood clots. It’s not a major concern unless you’re over 35. But obviously you should try and reduce/quit smoking.

@Kirsty_ it doesn’t affect the mini pill. Which is why i specifically said the combined pill. It’s the oestrogen in the combined pill that increases the risk x

@xyoshix It’s stated in every combined pill pamphlet ever that being on the pill and smoking increases your risk of blood clots.

@XYoshix it’s stated in every single combined pill pamphlet that there’s an increased risk of blood clots. There are whole sections/pages about it.

You’re at higher risk with the combined pill, but the mini pill doesn’t completely put you in the clear. There’s a much smaller risk with the mini pill.
