I just need somewhere to vent my thoughts My boyfriend has just found out he has a heart murmur and an irregular heartbeat and he keeps getting chest pain and his heart feels like it’s going to beat out of his chest. He’s got another doctors appointment on Monday and then he’s going to be referred to the hospital for a scan to find out what’s actually causing it and if anything can be done. I’m just so scared, I feel like crying I’m scared he’s not going to get better, and I can’t say that to him because he’s already an over thinker and I don’t want to worry him, I’m having to stay strong for him but I’m so worried. Just had to get it out and if anyone has any advice that might help or anything I’d appreciate it x

Honestly, many people have a heart murmur (all that means is the flaps between the chambers of your heart don’t close properly) - no biggie if it’s a small murmur and also soooooo many people have dysthymia (abnormal heart beat) it can be a number of different types some definitely worse than others. Like atrial fibrillation is so so so common and it doesn’t affect people

Also symptoms of chest pain and feeling like his heart is beating out of his chest - likely to be atrial fibrillation

Wouldn’t worry too much about it. Murmurs are harmless. As for the palpitations, that can be a number of things but should be fine

My friend has one since she was a child and she is okay. Try not to worry to much before the actual results come out
