You’d need a proper ID to open a bank account independently and I’m guessing what you have isn’t considered valid identification, you can get just a state ID that they will accept if you don’t have a drivers license. Even a passport may work!

This might be a little different, but my sister opened up an account with my mom at our credit union when she was about 15. I remember she had to get a state ID before she could open the account. I opened up my account around the same age but I had a state ID at the time. Do you live in the US?

@Gobearcats20 oh cool, you should be able to go into the DMV (if that's what it's called where you live) and request a state identification. That should be all you need to open up your account.

Get a state id or passport

State id, drivers license, passport, and birth certificate are valid forms of identification. I’m pretty sure banks and credit unions ask for 2 forms of id when you apply.

Yeah a birth certificate might work. You'll probably need to provide a real official copy
