Is it unhealthy to never take the placebo/sugar pills? I’m just starting on birth control but all of my friends tell me that they never take them. I know that I can skip my period by only sticking to the regular pills, but I don’t know if that’s healthy for my body?

No. There’s no point for them other than to stay in routine. They serve no hormonal value

It’s perfectly healthy and fine to skip your break week

You can also take your break week and not actually take the placebo pills. They’re sugar pills and don’t have any hormones

No, as the other users stated, it’s perfectly fine and healthy to skip your break weeks. There’s no real reason to have a period every month anyways.

Nope its perfectly fine. My doctor actually advised me to take my pill continuously for as long as possible to manage my endo pain/symptoms

There's nothing unhealthy about skipping breaks. It's not a real period. The bleeding is a side effect of the drop in hormones during the break week. It doesn't need to be there. The break week was first introduced so that the catholic church would accept the pill. It still is a thing today because many women like to have a bleed. It has no bearing on your health.
