No because I just never have! Not against it tho:)

01:09
No, and not that I dont like or trust them, I just never got them

Oct 18 19
01:11
No. I’m not necessarily against them. I just don’t get them. I don’t like shots

Oct 18 19
01:14
Yes I got mine while picking up my prescription a month ago

01:17
Definitely! I’m gonna get it before I go home and see my family. My dad and brother have asthma and if they get the flu it can turn into pneumonia. Plus there’s two babies in my family I’ll be around (my niece who’s less than a week old, and my nephew who’s a year and a half). Since so many in my family are vulnerable, I’m definitely getting it.

I got mine already because my job requires it

The flu shot solved an epidemic in my country 5 years ago, no way I don’t believe in it after seeing the consequences first hand

I don’t get it, I don’t ever get sick and I am also not around many people.

Oct 18 19
01:54
No I’ve never gotten it but might consider getting it this year

Oct 18 19
02:02
Always get it

Oct 18 19
02:09
I got it today

Oct 18 19
02:17
Get it every year. My mother in law is in remission from breast cancer and I wouldn’t put her or anyone at risk.

I always do because I’m on a college campus a lot

I had to for nursing school

I already got it. My work requires us to, but I would have anyway. Don’t want to put my son at risk since he’s too young for the flu shot. I highly encourage everyone to get it, not just for your own sake, but for the sake of more vulnerable populations.

I have to get mine. With my work it’s highly recommend to get it. And I think it’s worth it

Oct 18 19
04:09
Haven’t yet because I’ve had a cold but planning to as soon as I can!

Oct 18 19
04:41
Never have but I will think about it since my work is more vulnerable to get it easily due to sanitary reasons etc . I will think about it especially after reading some of these comments thanks ladies !!!

@malmoxd there was no evidence that vaccines were the cause of the increase in narcolepsy cases and even then, it was the H1N1 vaccine that was at the base of that rumor.

There were enough people in my surroundings that got narcolepsy to convince me, unfortunately. And just because they haven’t found evidence that the vaccine was the cause, doesn’t mean that it wasn’t it. Maybe in the future I’ll reconsider but right now I don’t trust it enough to take it😊

@schwa I had a cold when I got mine I had asked the person who was checking out my prescription at the pharmacy a month ago and she said I could still get it so I got it 🤷‍♀️

I was meant to get mine yesterday but there’s a shortage atm here 🙃 over 65’s and those vulnerable have priority with the nhs

Oct 18 19
06:10
I have to get mine because I work within the NHS and would be putting others at risk without it

Oct 18 19
06:12
No because I’m not eligible ☹️ if i could then I would get it every year

Oct 18 19
06:14
No. In my country you need to be a certain age to be eligible for it (unless it’s for medical or work purposes or something similar)

Oct 18 19
06:34
Nope because I’m not eligible

Oct 18 19
07:01
Ah, I should have added financial/logistical reasons to not get it. In the US they really push for everyone who can get vaccinated to get the shot, and just about anyone can get it for cheap or free one way or another.

I get it every year. It's advised on the NHS as I'm asthmatic. I've only had the flu once, and I spent 2 weeks in bed and nearly ended up in hospital, want to avoid that again if possible

Oct 18 19
09:32
I’ve never had it I don’t think. I know my dad is strongly against it as he thinks my older brother dodged a bullet when my dad said no to him having the shot that supposedly caused narcolepsy so it’s never been a thing in my household.

Oct 18 19
11:04
I will every year because my parents have autoimmune conditions so I don’t want to get them ill

Oct 18 19
11:16
It’s not common in the UK to get a flu shot unless you’re more at risk i.e elderly, pregnant, work in hospitals or have a pre existing condition or illness

Oct 18 19
11:17
@silvertink88 Oh good to know!

Oct 18 19
11:20
Nope, unless you meet the NHS critera, its not common to get the flu shot. I'm not eligible for it.

12:19
For people in the UK, you can get a flu shot without the NHS criteria, you just have to pay for it but you can get it from most pharmacies, especially boots 👍

It’s only about £12 too

Oct 18 19
14:57
No I never have as I rarely get sick and I’m not in contact with vulnerable people. I genuinely forgot it existed as the success here isn’t the greatest.

Oct 18 19
15:13
Already got mine :)

just got mine an hour ago lol I’ve actually never gotten one before and have never had the flu (knock on wood) but i need it for nursing school and from now on

I don’t get one, My insurance doesn’t pay for it at the pharmacy (it would be $37 without insurance) and my doctor (and other doctors in my area) are booked out until January-February so Im not even bothering. Theres also a shortage in the USA for the flu shot for people above 65. I was told it was sent to Australia because they are having a flu epidemic at the moment, not sure how true that is.

Oct 19 19
15:52
@Nocerino the specific type of flu shot that you get each year is developed based on the strain they see is most common in Australia because their flu season is earliest. Not sure if that’s what you mean

Oct 19 19
17:22
Oh no. I actually meant I was told Australia got a large shipment of the high dose flu shot (over 65) because they are having an epidemic right now (from what I was told not sure how true it really is) so the united states as a storage of it at the moment @aUrielle

I wouldn’t as it’s garbage but.... I’d loose my job so I’m screwed

@HeidyR yeah if that’s your mentality you probably shouldn’t be in that job

My sister is immuno-compromised so I have to. I would get it anyway tho

Oct 21 19

@HeidyR how is the flu vaccine garbage..?

14:57
I don't think I'm eligible for it, unfortunately.
