Has anyone on here gotten a G.E.D. I really want to get mine and I know people look down on them for even getting one. How are you’re lives after you got you’re GED.

I cant speak from experience but both of my parents got a GED and my dad is an automotive instructor and my mom works as a delivery nurse!

Why would anyone look down on you for advancing your education and your future? I get what you mean but kinda a backwards mindset. Don't pay any attention to those who would "look down" on you for pursuing it

@aurielle thank you I have had teachers tell me that nobody likes geds and a ged will make you fail. It’s just what I want and has made me so hesitant. But thank you I have people who support me but what those teachers said affected me.

I don’t understand that attitude honestly. Education in any form will only benefit your life, even if you don’t actually end up using your degree in a job it’s still time well spent and it’s still valuable. Also don’t understand your teachers being so snobby and dismissive of a normal education path???? What a horrible attitude. Do what you want to do, regardless of what anyone says. You will regret it if other people’s irrelevant opinions stop you from doing what you want but you won’t regret pursuing your goals and getting an education.

If you’ve researched whether doing them will be enough to get you into the course/job you want then they’re definitely not a waste of time

I have a GED and my life has been fine. I’ve gotten the jobs I’ve wanted and it’s never been a question as to why I don’t have a high school diploma. I also make decent money. At the end of the day, it’s about what you want and what is best for you. Don’t let others put you down, it’s still a diploma
