I made a really big mistake and need all the reinsurance (if possible at this point) I missed a pill in my last pack on the second week on the last day. So, I just continued my pack per usual and my pharmacist told me I was still protected & my gynecologist told me I was still protected. I had sex yesterday and I was 5 days in my active pills. I told him my situation and he still came inside me. I feel disgusting. Mainly because I feel like it was my fault for not being demanding enough and telling him to use a condom, but also because I keep thinking that I messed up by not waiting until 7 or 8 days until I was protected again. I’ve been on birth control since October so the feed back from my pharmacist and my gynecologist made me feel like I could still be protected. But, I’m only 19 and I can’t stop thinking about how I’m pregnant. I can’t afford a plan B idk what to do. 💊💊❌💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊 Brand: Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo

Planned Parenthood has plan b i think for free ( im not 100% sure), but i think taking plan b on birth control is a horrible idea. If you have been taking ur pills correctly for the days following the day you missed you should be fine!!! TRUST your doctors!! They know best!

@Jynx_ I’m on a combined pill too. I missed the last day on week two. I think my leaflet says if I miss one carry on taking the rest of the pack as normal (which you may need to take take two in one day) and it won’t impact your protection. However, I didn’t take two because I couldn’t :/ so I just had to start everything a day early. I’m just really scared.

@Jynx_ yes, I did experience breakthrough bleeding around the endish of my third week and then followed through with bleeding on my placebo week it did stop and since I’ve been taking active pills I haven’t had bleeding

This same thing happened to me (I’m on the same pill just a generic). My doctor said my protection would decrease and so did the pharmacist, but the specialist at planned parenthood said I would still be protected. I didn’t noticed that I skipped that pill until about a week later so it was too late to take plan B, but as soon as I noticed I continued taking my pill and we used condoms. I didn’t get pregnant. I was told that because the hormones increase weekly then I would be protected but I’m not sure how accurate that information is

@xowanderer omg, I’m on generic too!! That’s so reinsuring I wish there was an add button so I could friend you lmaoooo. But, I’m just really paranoid because of the whole 7 day+ protection with active pills. It’s just a stressful situation because everyone says different things.

Awww no problem! 😊 Yeah I was stressed out too, from what I’ve researched there doesn’t seem to be a clear cut answer on it. I wish I had more info to give you 😩

I forgot to mention that I started my new pack a day earlier if that helps! So my break week was only 6 days instead of 7

@xowanderer mine was a whole 7 because the rest of my pack I still had pills left over to take.

You're fine. It's more risky missing in week 1. Week 2 and 3 are generally low risk.

I just read her pamphlet and it says she can miss in every week and stay protected @ebell

It says if you miss one in week 1, 2, or 3 then you don't need a backup method

As long as you don't miss more than 1 you're good!
