You don’t ovulate on birth control. Cramps are just a normal side effect.

You actually can ovulate if you take the mini pill. It does suppress ovulation but not consistently. It prevents pregnancy by thickening the cervical mucus and making it so the sperm can’t reach the egg.

Yes. Sometimes you can even feel the egg releasing during the beginning of ovulation that can be cramp feeling.

@Jill77 about 50% of users may ovulate on the norethindrone mini pill. The desogestrel mini pill prevents ovulation.

I have been off birth control for a bit now since we’re trying for a baby and I have noticed cramping around ovulation, not everyone does. And cramping could be other things like I feel “cramping” when I need to fart lmao
