I’m not sure if this is a silly question but if you were to take a desogestrel pill (which protects you up to 12 hours late) 12 and a half hours late, would you still have some protection? I’ve heard that protection would be 0 but I don’t fully understand this? You’re fully protected up to 12 hours and then a minute after you aren’t protected at all? this doesn’t make sense to me haha

If you take it after more than 12h late there might be an ovulation and there's higher risk of pregnancy. That's what I read at least, but not every woman will have an ovulation after more than 12h

Missing a pill on the mini pill will leave you unprotected and at risk. We can’t know whether or not you will ovulate this quickly, some do, some don’t. And yes, that one minute can be the difference as the built up mucus can already thin down if you didn’t take your dose on time (which is putting you at risk). You’re either fully protected or fully unprotected, there is no in between. Either way you should abstain from sex or use condoms if you miss a pill until you’re protected again.
