TW - health talk Has anyone on here had a MRI scan for their head? I’m really worrying about the loud noises whilst I’m in that confined space. Any tips for getting through it without getting panicked? Many thanks!!

I had an MRI scan for my ears (so only my head) but honestly the space isn’t super closed in as you think (it might vary not sure) also weirdly mine didn’t have any noise from what I remember🤷🏼‍♀️ But I hate tight spaces and i found it okay, don’t let yourself overthink it and try closing your eyes during it and know nothing bad is going to happen :)

I did before, I just closed my eyes and breathed through it. And reminded myself it will be over soon.

I had to get one done of my neck. MRI do seem like they take long, but you have to remember it’s taking detailed and layers of imaging. Remember to not have any metal on you. I don’t know if every location does this but mine communications and tells you when the next scar is and how many minutes it is. They also give you a squeeze thing that if you feel like it’s too much and you need a break you can press it.

I just counted in 30 second increments. Went by fast while I did that and counted my breaths. Or do little brain games in your head, multiply big numbers just using your head!
