No, you don’t need to take them. The brown pills are considered your “break” and are only iron supplements

The inactive pills are more there to keep you in the routine of taking pills each day at around the same time.

No you don’t have to take them and there won’t be any side effects if you don’t. I’m on the same pill and I never take them because they contain iron and it would interfere with my other medication.
